Ram Rayapureddy is the Chief Information Officer of Viatris. He has been with Viatris and its legacy company, Mylan, since 2014 and began serving as CIO in 2016.
Ram is a proficient and experienced business partner who is responsible for developing and executing on Viatris’ technology vision and strategy. He has delivered proven results supporting the company’s growth, including the rollout of complex IT projects and the integration of global business acquisitions.
Prior to becoming CIO, Ram served as Vice President – Global Operations IT, where he developed the technology roadmap and led technology transformation in support of Mylan’s global operations, including a multiyear global plant automation plan.
He previously spent seven years at Ranbaxy Laboratories (acquired by Sun Pharma), progressing from Director IT – R&D, Manufacturing and IT Compliance to Global CIO. His background also includes roles focusing on computer validation and process automation at Schering-Plough, as well as additional experience at Merck, AstraZeneca, Novartis and A.L. Pharma.
Ram earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in mechanical engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad, India, and a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina.
